This thesis deals with imports of parallel plant protection products for commercial use from member states of EU to Czech republic. Because these products are chemical based, trading with them is thus stricktly regulated and controlled. This thesis provides clear and comprehensible procedure for application for authorizing a parallel import and as such represents a practical guideline for a potencial dealer/importer with a theoretical insight of the problem.
Trade Related Aspects of Patent Protection in Pharmaceuticals

The purpose of my thesis is to analyse the trade-related aspects of patent protection in pharmaceuticals. The first part focuses on the international regulation of patent protection and its impact on conducting business in the pharmaceutical industry. Chapter Two addresses the issue of relevant trade-related aspects - patent duration, parallel imports and compulsory licence. It describes the impact of patent protection on the generic pharmaceutical industry. Chapter Three concentrates on the attitudes of the pharmaceutical industry and governments, especially those of developing countries. It examines the progress within the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Exhaustion of trademark rights

The thesis deals with the analysis of exhaustion of trade mark rights, it focuses mainly on the comunnity-wide exhaustion. It is based mainly on the interpretation of the case law of the European Court of Justice which is used both to describe the creation and development of the principle and to help to evaluace its importace on the field of the common market and its practical conclusions. Appart from the community-wide exhaustion, big part of the thesis is represented with the global exhaustion whose possible introduction has been topic of many discussions.
